The department of production of construction products and structures was established in 1963. Its organizer and first leader was Honored Worker of the Higher School of Ukraine, Ph.D., Professor O.E. Lopatto (from 1963 to 1974)
     For more than half a century, 36 dissertations have been prepared and defended, 16 monographs, three textbooks, more than 860 articles on current problems of construction materials science have been published.
    The achievements of the department are related to the involvement of students in the performance of scientific and research works. The results of scientific research are reflected in completed diploma and master's theses, based on the results of which the most talented students are recommended for postgraduate study.
   A certified scientific research laboratory for testing building materials and products has been created at the department.
   From 2018 to 2023, the department was headed by Prof. Zavoloka M.V.
   Since 2023, the department is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences Assoc. Martynov V.I.
