Lopatto Alexander Eduardovich
The Institute of Construction Technology (until 2004 - the Faculty of Construction Technology) was founded in 1966. The initiators and organizers of the faculty were an honored employee of the higher school of Ukraine, Professor Lopatto OE


Since 1974, the educational and laboratory building of the Faculty of Construction and Technology of the OIBI has been located at 28 Staroportofrankivska Street . This building has a 200-year history and is an architectural monument of the city of Odessa.

The educational and laboratory building of the Institute of Construction Technology includes 9 group, 4 specialized classrooms and 3 current classrooms, a computer class, 10 training laboratories, an accredited research laboratory for testing building materials and products.

The Department of Production of Construction Products and Structures was established in 1963. Its organizer and first leader was an honored employee of the higher school of Ukraine, Ph.D., prof. O.E. Lopatto (1963-1974). At the same time, the main direction of training was formulated: civil engineer-technologist. This allowed to make a list of the main disciplines of the department and accordingly select a highly qualified teaching staff. At different times the department was headed by: Ph.D., Assoc. E.N. Repyev (1975-1985), Ph.D., Assoc. G.P. Sadovsky (1985 - 1990), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. Virovoy VM (1990 - 2018)
From 2018 the department is headed by the candidate of technical sciences, professor Zavoloka MV

Virovoy VM in 1971 graduated from the Odessa Civil Engineering Institute and entered graduate school, and in 1973 began working as an assistant at the Department of Production of Construction Products and Structures. Since 1974 held the position of senior lecturer and was appointed Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in public positions. He defended his dissertation in 1979. The dissertation on competition of a scientific degree of the doctor of technical sciences VM Virovoy defended in 1988. In 1990 he received the academic title of professor and since 1990. until 2018 was the head of the department of production of construction products and structures.
Professor VM Virovoy published about 420 works, including 12 monographs and 12 copyright certificates and patents. For more than 15 years he has been managing fundamental developments in materials science, on the basis of which the scientific school of the academy is one of the leading in Ukraine and abroad. Under the leadership of VM Vyrovy defended 5 doctoral dissertations (one of which is a Polish citizen) and 18 candidate dissertations. Scientific topics, which deals with Professor VM Vyrovoy, included in the priority research areas of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. He has received state awards of Ukraine "20 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" (1965), "60 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" (2005). In 2013 he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine".
Research interests: structure formation, strength and destruction of building composite materials and structures.

Mikhail Vasilyevich Zavoloka in 1970. graduated from the Odessa Civil Engineering Institute and entered graduate school in 1973. Since 1976 worked as a VAT researcher. He took part in the implementation of state budget topics for the creation of the eastern construction industry of the Baikal-Amur highway, as well as in the implementation of the state program "Housing 2000" in Surgut, in collaboration with the Research Institute of Building Physics. He defended his dissertation in 1987. In 2006 received the title of professor. Until 1993 worked as a VAT researcher. Since 1993 worked as an associate professor of VBK, until 2018. served as Deputy BTI for research. to this day he is the head of the department of production of construction products and structures.
Professor MV Zavoloka published about 250 works, including 2 monographs and 2 textbooks. Engaged in maintenance, monitoring and quality control of construction materials and products.
M.V. Zavoloka fruitfully performs the following duties: he is a member of the scientific councils of the Construction and Technological Institute and the Academy.
Research interests: study of the influence of solar energy and surfactants on the properties of building materials.

Martynov Volodymyr Ivanovych
Martynov Volodymyr Ivanovich was born on March 24, 1955 in the city of Ananyev, Odessa region. He graduated from Ananyev secondary school No. 1 in 1972. In 1975, he was enrolled in the full-time form of study of the preparatory department of the Odessa Engineering and Construction Institute. From 1976 to 1981, he studied at the Faculty of Construction and Technology. Upon graduation, he received a diploma of a technological engineer in the specialty "Production of building products and structures". After that, he was assigned to the Department of Production of Building Products and Structures (VBK) of this institute as a trainee researcher.
In 1982 he was elected to the position of assistant of the department of production of building products and structures. In 1991 he defended his thesis on the topic "Acid-resistant aerated concrete" and received the degree of candidate of technical sciences. In 1994 he was elected to the position of associate professor of the department of VBK of the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. From 2006 to 2011 he worked as the head of the scientific and research part of ODABA. After that he again worked as an associate professor at the department.
In 2017, he defended his dissertation on the topic: "Experimental and theoretical foundations of the production of foam concrete with a given structure and predicted properties" and received the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences. Under his supervision, four graduate students defended their dissertations and received the academic title of Candidate of Technical Sciences.
Since 2024, he has been working as the head of the Department of Production of Building Products and Structures of the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.

The first staff of the Department of Production of Construction Products and Structures in 1963 consisted of 5 employees, including 1 candidate of science, and in 1973 - 9, including 6 candidates of science, 2 assistants, and 1 professor.
At different times at the department worked fruitfully AA Kucherenko, FM Maistrenko, SV Makarov, L.A. Можарова, А.М. Feofanov, II Salnikov, BF Bondar, VV Reksha, K.F. Волиска, В.К. Zubnov, VP Kyrylyshyn, VI Novokshchenov, EN Rep'ev, AP Troshchenovsky, A.V. Sirenko, Yu.M. Воронов, С.І. Slanevsky, VM Vinogradsky, L.O. Kuznetsov, GV Михайленко, В.Г. Сидоренко, Г.Г. Tkachenko.
During these years, the staff of the department published 11 monographs and manuals, 2 textbooks, published about 80 articles, spoke at international congresses and symposia, All-Union and national conferences, received foreign patents.
Since 1963 52 candidate and 7 doctoral dissertations were prepared and defended at the department, more than 1500 articles on topical issues of building materials science and technology, 25 monographs and seven textbooks were published.
The most fruitful worked in these years: VM Вировой, І.І. Kuznetsov, OO Kucherenko, OE Lopatto, FM Maistrenko, SV Makarov, L.A. Mozharova, AM Feofanov.
The Department of IBC and its first head were actually the organizers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The research work of the department is aimed at developing modern technologies for the production of effective building materials and products. Professor V.M. Vyrovoy is the founder of the scientific direction associated with the use of synergistic approaches to the organization of the structure, the formation of strength and destruction of building composite materials and structures, which formed the basis of many years of research.
The educational process is also provided by educational and support staff, which consists of highly qualified specialists: head of the laboratory Sushitsky E.B., engineer Shevchenko V.V., Plit O.D., Nepomyaschim O.M. The laboratory employees listed above have graduated or are studying in postgraduate studies.
The department teaches more than 30 disciplines of professional orientation, which are provided with educational and methodological literature. Thanks to the fruitful work of the department's teachers, the base of methodological instructions is replenished, including: "Technological map of the production of the basic product", "Frame-monolithic housing construction", "Fundamentals of the technology of wall and heat-insulating materials", "Quality management of building materials", "Concrete and mortars", "Structure formation, strength and fracture mechanics of composite building materials and structures".

This team of scientific and pedagogical workers is the heir to many years of traditions in the development of construction science and the formation of highly qualified specialists in the field of production of building products and structures.
The department's teachers actively participate in international scientific programs, cooperate with leading manufacturing enterprises in Ukraine and Europe, and ensure a high level of training for students of all levels — from bachelors to postgraduates.
Today, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Dovgan P.M. is the scientific director of the Scientific Research Laboratory for Testing Building Materials and Products, certified by the State Standard of Ukraine. He is engaged in scientific support, monitoring and quality control of building materials and products. He has many years of experience in the field of standardization, implementation of modern testing methods, laboratory certification and product certification. He actively cooperates with enterprises in the construction industry, ensures the integration of scientific results into production practice and the educational process.
The educational process is also provided by a highly qualified specialist engineer - Shevchenko V.V.


Every year, teachers and students of the Department of IBC participate in international national and regional symposia, conferences and seminars, which allows teachers and future young professionals to gain knowledge and share experiences on the latest developments in modern high technology production of building materials and products. The results of scientific research are presented by the teachers of the department in the collection of scientific works "Bulletin of ODABA", which is included in the list of scientific publications.
The department annually holds an international conference "Structure, strength and fracture mechanics of composite building materials and structures." The conference invites scientists and graduate students from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Poland, Israel, Iran, Moldova and other countries. Recognition of the department at the international level is confirmed by fruitful cooperation in international relations of the academy with Lublin Polytechnic (Poland), Technical University of Moldova (Moldova), Ariel University (Israel) during which comparative analysis of curricula and exchange of professional experience.

The department has created a department for production at KMD "Cambio", which is a modern production of building products and structures using European technologies. At KMD "Cambio" there is a modern concrete museum and an auditorium for fifty seats, equipped with modern multimedia devices that allow for training sessions and international conferences of the department .

Students are active participants in the learning process. Basic enterprises of the construction industry and construction materials provide great assistance in improving the educational process and performing research work. A research circle has been created at the department, where students perform research works that take part in the all-Ukrainian competition of student research works.
Teachers of the department manage the preparation of diploma and bachelor's theses of students, which is an important component of professional training of future specialists. During the whole activity of the department more than 700 diploma and 250 master's theses were defended. Many of them outgrow as research, are celebrated in competitions, continue in dissertations. Student research is published in a collection of scientific papers and is the first step on the difficult path of scientific work.
Employees of the department work with optimism and hope in the most important part of the educational process - the training of competitive construction professionals, which lays a solid foundation for further development of the country.
